Ashley was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin and grew up in a small town called Casco, about 20 minutes east of Green Bay.  She is the grateful daughter of Katie and Charles Schmitt and the proud sister of Austin and Ross.  The family spent their summers on the shores of Lake Michigan in Algoma at Fisherman’s Refuge, a family owned fishing campground.

 Ashley’s love for music began early in life.  She always enjoyed and appreciated singing and performing in school.  Her love for theatre became far more prominent when her older brother Austin became increasingly involved with the technical elements of high school theatre.  By the time she was in sixth grade, she was chosen from the middle school to play the role of Mary Lennox in the high school production of The Secret Garden.  From then on, Ashley knew that theatre was her calling in life, and took every opportunity to perform.

 After much dedicated effort, she soon was accepted (one of seven) into the BFA musical theatre program at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.  Always thriving on a challenge, Ashley took between 18 and 22 credits every semester to ensure the maximum level of competence within her career.  Graduation cum laude (3.8 GPA), she moved out to New York City where she continues to pursue this amazing career and wonderful journey through life!
